A note from CARDS:
Some of you mave have heard retired Deputy Roger Hodge suffered a stroke this past Friday. Tim Buckhout spoke with Roger’s son, Kevin, and has provided the follow status report:
As you know, Roger had a stroke on Friday night, 4-17-26, and was flown to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA. He stayed in ICU Friday-Sunday and is now in a regular room recovering. Kevin is with him. He is expected to be transferred to a rehab facility this week and I will let you know when Kevin updates me. Roger is able to walk and use his extremities pretty well, but his speech and his ability to read are not very good yet. Kevin asked that folks not call Roger, but instead send a text message. His son is reading the messages to Roger and thinks he is understanding some of them.
In a strange twist, Roger asked Kevin to come to their home a few days before his stroke and Kevin was able to get off work and make the trip. He was the only one there Friday when Roger had his stroke and called 911. Saved his life!
I asked Kevin about Sue, his mom, and he said she is not doing well. She has Alzheimer’s and Roger was her care giver. Currently, she is at home with another family member being cared for.
